Abalone Cove Shoreline Park

Abalone Cove Shoreline Park has a path down to a sand and cobble beach backed by coastal bluffs, with tidepools scattered along the rocky shoreline on either side. It's one of the more complete stops on the Palos Verdes Peninsula, combining an actual beach with the tidepooling the rest of the peninsula's rocky coast is known for.
A real sand-and-cobble beach plus genuine tidepools in one stop, one of the better all-around visits on the peninsula.

A path leads down from the parking area to the beach; the terrain is uneven in places.
Dogs are not allowed on the beach or in the tide pools, though leashed dogs are permitted in the upper picnic area and on the reserve's trails.
