Aliomanu Beach

Aliomanu Beach runs along a quiet residential stretch of coast just north of Anahola, a narrow band of sand fronting a shallow reef that keeps the water calm on most days. Few visitors make the turn down Aliomanu Road, so the beach tends to belong to the handful of local families who live along it.
A genuinely quiet neighborhood beach with good tide pooling, though there's no parking area, no facilities, and nothing to draw anyone who doesn't already know it's here.
How we score beachesLow tide exposes a wide reef flat good for looking at tide pools, but the footing is sharp coral rubble, so reef shoes are worth packing.
Limited roadside parking runs along Aliomanu Road where it nears the shore. There is no dedicated lot.
Short, informal sandy paths connect the road to the beach at a few points, uneven underfoot and not built for strollers or wheelchairs.
Summer's calmer water over the reef flat makes for the easiest wading and tide pooling. Winter's north swells can push more water and debris over the reef, making the shallows rougher than usual.
