Avalon Beach
Quincy, MA
Avalon Beach sits on Avalon Avenue in Quincy Point, where a small park with benches, shade trees, and picnic tables backs a strip of sand. It is a low key spot on the Weymouth Fore River side of the city, better for an afternoon picnic than a full beach day.
A pleasant little park with picnic tables and shade, but it is small, on the river side, and not much of a swimming destination.
How we score beachesCome for the shade and picnic tables on a hot day. It is one of the calmer beach parks in Quincy Point.
On street parking along Avalon Avenue.
Shaded park grounds lead to the sand. The beach is small, and the surface is regular sand.
Summer picnics are the highlight. Spring and fall are quiet, with a cool breeze off the river.
