Awalua Beach

Awalua Beach sits along a quiet stretch of Honoapiilani Highway between Launiupoko and Olowalu, a narrow, mostly rock and coral sand beach with almost none of the infrastructure its neighbors have. Fishermen and a handful of locals walking the shoreline are usually the only company, since there's little here to draw a crowd.
Quiet and undeveloped enough that almost nobody stops here on purpose, which is exactly the appeal for the few locals who do, though there's genuinely nothing here beyond the shoreline itself.
How we score beachesThere's no marked entrance or facilities of any kind. Look for informal pullouts along the highway shoulder and be ready to walk a short stretch to find open sand.
Roadside pullouts along Honoapiilani Highway are the only parking, informal and limited, with no dedicated lot.
A short walk down from the highway shoulder to a mixed sand and rock shoreline, uneven underfoot and not suited to strollers or wheelchairs.
Calmer in summer, though this stretch of coast sees enough wind and chop most of the year that it's better for a walk than a swim regardless of season.
