Barview Jetty Beach
Garibaldi, OR
Barview sits at the north jetty of Tillamook Bay, where the calmer bay meets open ocean surf on the other side of the rocks. Barview Jetty County Park runs a year round campground here, and the jetty itself draws a steady stream of anglers fishing for perch and rockfish from the rocks.
A solid, reliable spot for jetty fishing and bay access, but the beach itself is more a fishing and camping stop than a swimming destination.
How we score beachesWalk out toward the jetty rocks at low tide for the best fishing access, but keep an eye on incoming waves, since the rocks get slick and the surf here can surprise people.
Fee-based parking and camping at Barview Jetty County Park, directly off Highway 101.
Flat sand access from the campground; the jetty itself is uneven rock, not accessible for strollers or wheelchairs.
Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach.
Summer, June through September, is calmest for beach time; fall brings better fishing as ocean perch move through the jetty.
