Bass River Beach
Yarmouth, MA
Bass River Beach sits at the mouth of the Bass River in South Yarmouth, where the river meets Nantucket Sound. The town also uses the site for boat access, so expect kayaks, small boats, and views of the river channel. It is a smaller, working waterfront beach rather than a big swimming stretch.
An easy river mouth beach with boating views, but channel currents and boat traffic make it a spot for watching more than swimming.
How we score beachesWatch for boat traffic near the launch, and keep swimmers away from the channel. Check Yarmouth's pass rules before you go.
Yarmouth uses daily, weekly, and seasonal passes in season. Check current rules with the town.
Check on arrival for the path from the lot to the sand.
River mouth water warms quickly in summer. Currents near the channel are strong.
