Beach House Beach

Koloa, HI

SnorkelingScenic

Beach House Beach takes its name from the restaurant perched just above the sand, a small pocket beach on Lawai Road where the snorkeling starts almost as soon as you're in the water. Green sea turtles show up here often enough that regulars half expect one on any given swim.

Locals Score🥥🥥🥥🥥🥥

Reliable, close in snorkeling with regular turtle sightings, though the beach itself is small enough that it disappears almost entirely at high tide.

How we score beaches
Local Tip

Get in the water by mid morning, before the wind picks up and the visibility drops. This stretch of coast can go from clear to choppy within an hour or two most afternoons.

Parking

Street parking along Lawai Road serves the beach, limited but usually available outside of sunset dinner hours at the restaurant above.

Accessibility

A short set of steps and a sandy path lead down from the road to the beach, not stroller or wheelchair friendly given the drop and the narrow sand.

Weather & the best time to visit

Summer's calmer water and better visibility make it the more dependable snorkeling season, while winter's south facing swells can occasionally roll in and stir up the shallows.
