Bennett's Pier Beach
Milford, DE
Bennett's Pier Beach has no actual pier despite the name, just a remote stretch of sand and roadside parking inside Milford Neck Wildlife Area, between Slaughter Beach and Big Stone Beach. Surf fishermen come here for striped bass, flounder, and the occasional shark, and the minimal development makes it good shorebird habitat too.
A real find for solitude seeking surf fishermen, but there's truly nothing here beyond sand and water, which keeps it firmly a specialty stop rather than a regular beach day.
How we score beachesThere's no shade, no facilities, and barely any parking, so bring everything you need and plan on a short visit rather than a whole day.
Roadside parking only, with very few spots, no lot.
Access is a short, informal walk from the road over open sand; no paths or facilities.
Like the rest of the Delaware Bay shore, it warms through the summer and sits inside the June through November hurricane season, though this stretch draws more fishermen than swimmers year round.
