Boulevard Park
Bellingham, WA
Boulevard Park runs along Bellingham Bay between Taylor Dock and the South Bay Trail, a city park that got a real upgrade in early 2026 when a shoreline enhancement project replaced rock riprap with a gently sloping natural beach in two spots. It's walkable straight from downtown, with views to the San Juan Islands and the Canadian border peaks.
A genuinely nice, recently upgraded urban waterfront that's easy to reach on foot from downtown, though it's built for strolling and picnics more than swimming.
How we score beachesThe new beach areas from the 2026 shoreline project are worth seeking out specifically; the rest of the park's shoreline is still mostly the older riprap.
Free, no Discover Pass needed since it's city land. Open daily 6am to 10pm.
