Burfoot Park
Olympia, WA
Burfoot Park is a 65-acre Thurston County park in Boston Harbor with 1,100 feet of saltwater frontage on Budd Inlet, views of the Capitol dome and the Olympic Mountains from the beach. It's locally known as a cold water plunge spot, with trails, picnic shelters, and crabbing rounding out the park.
A real, well used county beach with genuine Capitol and mountain views, though cold water keeps it from being a big swimming draw.
How we score beachesThe water stays cold enough that this reads more as a plunge and view spot than a lounge-on-the-sand beach; dress accordingly.
Free, open 9am to dusk.
