Butler Beach

Butler Beach centers on Frank B. Butler County Park, a free county park with restrooms, picnic tables, and shaded pavilions south of St. Augustine's busier main beach. Parking is limited to one side of the driving lane to protect the conservation zone, keeping the whole setup a bit more low-key than the bigger beaches nearby.
Free parking and a genuinely generous dog policy make it a solid pick for pet owners, though it's a plainer setup than the bigger beaches with more built-in activity further north.
How we score beachesDogs are welcome throughout the park and on the beach on a leash no longer than six feet, one of the more pet-friendly setups in the county. Park only on the marked west side of the lane, the conservation zone on the other side is enforced.
Parking is free at Frank B. Butler County Park, limited to the west side of the driving lane.
The park has short, flat paths from the lot to the beach.
Dogs are welcome throughout the park and beach on a leash no longer than six feet.
Winter and spring bring mild, dry weather and the year's biggest crowds tied to St. Augustine's tourist season. Summer's heat and hurricane season, June through November, bring the warmest water.
