Camano Island State Park
Camano Island, WA
Camano Island State Park covers 134 acres with 6,700 feet of rocky shoreline on Saratoga Passage and Port Susan, views out to Camano Head and the Olympics. A mile long trail connects it to neighboring Cama Beach State Park, so the two are easy to combine into one visit with genuinely different characters.
A solid rocky-beach state park with a genuine hiking and camping combo, close enough to Seattle to be a real regular option.
How we score beachesWalk the connector trail to Cama Beach rather than driving between the two; it's a mile through forest and a nice way to see both parks in one trip.
A Discover Pass is required. Camping is available.
Within about 90 minutes of Seattle, making it a workable day trip year round, though summer is the reliable window for camping and swimming.
