Chandler Cove Beach
Chebeague Island, ME
Chandler Cove Beach is a popular day use beach on Chebeague Island in Casco Bay. The Town of Chebeague Island owns much of the beach and flats as a park, and the view looks across the water to Little Chebeague, which has its own trails and beach. It is a ferry ride and a short island trip from Portland.
A popular island beach with open flats and a relaxed feel, though it needs a ferry ride to reach.
How we score beachesTake the ferry and bring lunch. At low tide the flats open up and you can walk a long way out.
Arrive by ferry and get around the island on foot or by bike. Check the town for current parking guidance.
A short walk to the beach over uneven ground. Not wheelchair friendly.
Summer ferry schedules make July and August the easiest months. Water is cold even then.
