Children's Beach
Nantucket, MA
Children's Beach is the closest sand to downtown Nantucket, a small harbor beach with a playground, a bandstand, and the Gyp-Sea Cafe nearby. The water is calm and shallow. It is a short walk from the ferry docks, so the beach fills with families all summer.
A convenient beach right in town for small children, though it is small and busy.
How we score beachesSkip the car and walk from the docks, since it is a short trip and parking near downtown is tight. Check for weekly events at the stage.
Parking is limited near downtown, and walking from the ferry docks is easiest.
The beach is close to the street with a flat approach and nearby facilities. Restrooms and a playground are on site.
Harbor water is warm and gentle by midsummer, and September is quiet.
