China Creek Beach
Bandon, OR
China Creek marks the south end of Bandon's Beach Loop wayside chain, where a small creek crosses the sand and low dunes give kids a shallower, calmer place to play than the open beach itself. It's the quietest of Bandon's named Beach Loop stops, popular with locals who have small children in tow.
A genuinely good pick for young kids specifically, though it lacks the dramatic rock formations that make the other Beach Loop stops more of a destination.
How we score beachesBring a bucket and shovel for the low dunes and creek here specifically. It's a better setup for young kids than the more dramatic, rockier stops farther north.
Free lot at China Creek, not recommended for large RVs.
A short path leads from the lot to the beach and creek crossing.
Summer, June through September, is calmest for creek wading and the driest for the low dune area.
