Cisco Beach
Nantucket, MA
Cisco Beach is one of Nantucket's most popular south shore beaches, with steady Atlantic surf, a surf school on site, and food trucks often parked nearby. Cisco is the one to visit if you want some waves. The crowd is young, active, and social, and it builds through the afternoon.
Good waves and a lively scene, but it gets crowded and the surf is not always gentle.
How we score beachesCome in the morning for smaller crowds and cleaner waves. Check conditions before letting kids in, since south shore surf can be strong.
There is a lot at the beach, and it fills on summer days. Check current signage for fees and rules.
A short path leads from the lot to the sand, with soft sand on the beach. Facilities are basic.
Atlantic surf and cooler water are typical, and late summer swells can be strong.
