Coconut Island Park (Moku Ola)

Coconut Island sits just offshore in Hilo Bay, a small grassy islet connected to Liliuokalani Gardens by a short footbridge, known to most locals simply as Moku Ola. Kids jump off the old diving tower most sunny afternoons, and the calm, current free water inside the breakwater makes it one of the easiest places in Hilo to actually get in the ocean.
About as reliable and calm a swim as Hilo offers, genuinely loved for weekend family gatherings, though the water isn't especially clear given the bay's runoff.
