Cooks Beach

Cooks Beach sits between Kimbles and Reeds along the same stretch of Delaware Bay shoreline in Middle Township, another small, undeveloped viewing spot for the horseshoe crab and shorebird spectacle that draws birders here every spring. Like its neighbors, it closes to general beach use during the peak migration window.
Part of a genuinely significant ecological corridor along the bay, but as a swimming beach on its own it offers little beyond the water and the birding, with almost no facilities.

Limited, informal parking serves the beach, smaller in scale than the dedicated lot at Reeds Beach nearby.
A short, flat walk from parking leads to the beach, over natural, uneven ground rather than a paved path.
Bay water warms into the mid to upper 70s by August. The beach closes to general use during the horseshoe crab spawning season, typically early May through early June, to protect migrating shorebirds.
