Copalis Beach
Copalis Beach, WA
This stretch north of Ocean Shores, running through Ocean City and into Copalis Beach, is the same legally drivable Seashore Conservation Area sand, popular as one of the state's most productive razor clam beaches when the season's open. It's less developed than Ocean Shores itself, with longer stretches of flat open sand and fewer buildings in view.
A solid, reliable clamming and driving beach that locals rely on, though it reads as an extension of the same long drivable strip as Ocean Shores rather than something distinct on its own.
How we score beachesCheck WDFW's razor clam schedule before planning a trip here in fall or winter. The beach draws real crowds on open dig days and empties out completely in between.
Free at marked access points like 2nd Street in Ocean City; no Discover Pass needed for the beach.
Marked road accesses lead straight onto hard-packed sand, generally easy for strollers on the upper beach.
Razor clam season, roughly fall through winter on approved dig dates, is the busiest and most distinctive time to visit. Summer is quieter here than at Ocean Shores.
