Coquille Point
Bandon, OR
Coquille Point sits at the north end of Bandon's Beach Loop, part of the Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge, with a paved overlook trail connecting several viewpoints above the beach's sea stacks and nesting seabird colonies. It's a shorter walk from downtown Bandon than the other Beach Loop stops, making it the most convenient entry point to the same connected stretch of sand.
The easiest downtown access to Bandon's beach and its sea stacks, well loved for that convenience, though nesting season restrictions limit how close you can get to some of the rocks.
How we score beachesTake the paved loop trail above before heading down to the sand. It gives a clear view of which sea stacks host nesting birds, worth knowing before walking too close at the tideline.
Free lot near Coquille Point, a short walk from downtown Bandon.
A paved, accessible overlook trail runs above the beach; stairs lead down to the sand itself.
Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach, though restrictions apply near seabird nesting colonies in spring and summer.
Seabird nesting season runs roughly spring through summer; low tide any time of year gives the best connected beach walking south toward Face Rock.
