Cove Beach
Arch Cape, OR
Cove Beach, sometimes called Magic Rocks Beach, sits directly north of Cape Falcon and runs into Arch Cape to the south, closed in by dramatic cliffs that keep it out of most guidebooks entirely. Locals who know the pullout treat it as their own stretch of the Oregon Coast Trail, largely because so few tourists find it.
Genuinely uncrowded precisely because it isn't signed or maintained, but that same lack of a real trail makes it a poor choice for anyone not comfortable on an unmarked path.
How we score beachesThere's no marked trailhead, so look for the informal pullout along Highway 101 rather than expecting a sign. A local hiking guide or the Oregon Coast Trail map is worth checking before you go.
An informal roadside pullout on Highway 101, no formal lot.
An unmaintained, somewhat steep path drops down from the highway to the sand. Not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
Summer, June through September, offers the driest footing on the access path, which matters more here than at beaches with a maintained trail.
