Crescent Beach
St. Augustine, FL

Crescent Beach centers on Crescent Beachfront Park off A1A South, a quieter stretch south of St. Augustine's busier city beaches where finding a parking spot is usually easier even on weekends. A four-wheel-drive-only ramp at Cubbedge Road allows vehicle access to the sand for permit holders.
Easier parking than the busier beaches closer to St. Augustine is a genuine draw, though it trades away some of the built-in amenities those beaches offer.
How we score beachesA beach driving pass is required March through September for anyone planning to drive onto the sand at the Cubbedge Road ramp. This is a good pick specifically because it's easier to park here than at the busier beaches closer to town.
Off-beach parking is available at Crescent Beachfront Park; generally easier to find a spot than at busier city beaches.
The park has short, flat paths from the lot to the sand.
Leashed dogs, six feet or shorter, are welcome on the beach.
Winter and spring bring mild, dry weather and the year's biggest crowds tied to St. Augustine's tourist season. Summer's heat and hurricane season, June through November, bring the warmest water.
