Crosby Landing
Brewster, MA
Crosby Landing is the largest of Brewster's bay beaches, with a big lot and the widest flats in town. At low tide the water pulls out for a mile, revealing sandbars and clam beds. Sunsets are strong here, and the gentle waves on the incoming tide make it a good pick for families.
The biggest lot and widest flats in Brewster make it a go to, but there are no lifeguards to watch the kids.
How we score beachesThis is the one to pick if other Brewster lots are full. Come on a rising tide, when the flats are warming and the water is shallow.
A Brewster beach permit is required from mid June through the Sunday of Labor Day weekend. The lot holds roughly 55 to 60 cars.
The lot is close to the beach, and the sand is soft. There are no lifeguards.
Dogs are prohibited from mid May to mid September.
Summer brings the warmest water. Fall evenings are calm, with strong sunset color.
