Damon Point

Ocean Shores, WA

UncrowdedScenic

Damon Point is a wild, roughly two-mile sand spit at the southeast tip of the Ocean Shores peninsula, where Grays Harbor opens into the ocean. There's no boardwalk and no facilities here, just driftwood, dune grass, and some of the better agate hunting on this part of the coast after a winter storm.

Locals Score🥥🥥🥥🥥🥥

A real locals' spot for agates and birds precisely because it takes effort to reach, though zero amenities and occasional closures keep it from being an everyday beach.

How we score beaches
Local Tip

Go after a storm if agates are the goal; the wave action that makes the walk out muddier also turns up better rocks. Check current conditions before heading all the way out, since the point has seen temporary closures for dangerous tidal currents.

Parking

Free parking at the trailhead. The point itself is walk-in only, no vehicle access.

Accessibility

Unpaved sand and dune trail the whole way, not stroller or wheelchair friendly.

Weather & the best time to visit

Winter storms bring the best beachcombing but also the currents that occasionally close the point. Late summer is calmer and safer for the full walk out.
