Eel River Beach

A long sand spit forms where the Eel River meets the Pacific south of Loleta, wild and mostly unmarked, the kind of beach you find because you went looking for the river mouth rather than because a sign pointed you there. Shorebirds and the shifting channel are the main draw more than any facilities.
A genuinely wild river mouth beach for anyone willing to find it, though the lack of any marked access or facilities keeps it a detour rather than a planned stop.
