Egypt Beach
Scituate, MA
Egypt Beach is a small, stony beach in Scituate between North Scituate and Sand Hills, better known to the town's surfers than to sunbathers. The beach has a modest lot, a nearby convenience store, and the raw feel of the north facing Massachusetts Bay coast when the swell rolls in.
A real local surf spot with plenty of parking, but the stony shore and the sticker rule limit casual visits.
How we score beachesIt is a surfer's beach when conditions line up, so check the forecast and be respectful of the local lineup. A beach sticker is required in season.
About 77 spaces at the beach. A town beach sticker or day pass is required from Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day.
A short walk from the lot to a stony beach. Porta potties are on site, but the surface is rough and uneven.
Fall and winter storms bring the best surf, while summer is calmer and more crowded.
