George Lane Beach
Weymouth, MA
George Lane Beach is what North Weymouth calls the new beach, a peninsula shoreline with a boat ramp, a large lot, and restrooms. The water looks out on the Fore River and Boston Harbor, and on summer evenings you will see kayakers, fishermen, and neighbors walking the shore. It links by walkway to Wessagusset Beach.
Plenty of parking and a boat ramp make it easy to use, but the beach itself is modest and the boat traffic can be busy.
How we score beachesCome at sunset, when the lot empties out and the light hits the water. Combine it with a walk to Wessagusset.
There is a large parking lot at the beach, shared with boat ramp users. Check current signage for any seasonal rules.
Restrooms and paved parking sit near the sand, and a concrete walkway runs along the shore toward Wessagusset Beach.
Summer evenings and early fall are the best times, with steady breezes off the river.
