Gleneden Beach State Recreation Site
Gleneden Beach, OR
Gleneden Beach sits between Lincoln City and Depoe Bay, a small unincorporated community whose state recreation site draws locals looking for a quieter stretch of sand than either of its bigger neighbors. Salishan Spit, visible to the south, closes off part of the view but also blocks some of the wind on calmer days.
A reliable, uncrowded stop between two busier towns, solid but without a standout feature of its own.
How we score beachesThe lot is small and easy to drive past. Watch for the state park sign right off Highway 101 rather than looking for a town center.
Free lot directly off Highway 101.
A short path and stairway lead from the lot to the sand.
Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach.
Summer, June through September, brings the driest and calmest conditions for a beach day here.
