Goosewing Beach Preserve
Little Compton, RI
A privately protected stretch of sand in one of Rhode Island's quietest corners, reachable by a short walk past dunes that piping plovers actually get to use undisturbed. Little Compton keeps this one off the tourist maps on purpose, and the regulars would like to keep it that way.
Dogs and off trail walking are restricted during nesting season to protect the plovers, so check current rules before you go.
