Haleiwa Aliʻi Beach Park hosts most of the North Shore's biggest surf contests come winter, a wide sand and grass park with a reliable, well shaped break just offshore. Outside contest season it's a straightforward local beach, calmer in summer, good for a swim when the pro tour tents aren't set up on the lawn.
A genuine piece of surf history and a solid summer swim beach, but winter means contest closures and crowds that push regular beachgoers elsewhere.
