How we score beachesWalk the short trail up Kauiki Hill on the bay's east side for a view over the whole cove and out toward Hamoa. It's a five minute climb most visitors skip entirely.
A free county lot sits right at the bay off Hana Highway, generally sufficient except during Hana's busiest festival weekends.
A paved park with pavilions leads directly onto sand, an easy, flat walk suitable for strollers and most mobility levels.
Protected by the bay's shape, the water here stays calm nearly year round, making it one of the more reliable swimming spots on this coast regardless of season.
