Hingham Bathing Beach
Hingham, MA
Hingham Bathing Beach is a multi purpose park at 95 Otis Street on Hingham Harbor, with a roped off swim area, a diving platform, lawns, shade trees, and a bandstand. Views stretch across the harbor to World's End. It is free to use, which is rare on the South Shore, and it doubles as a farmers' market site.
Free parking, a bandstand, and a lawn make it a real Hingham gathering place, but the beach is best at high tide and can be muddy at low tide.
How we score beachesSwim at high tide. At low tide the harbor drains and the beach turns muddy, so check a tide chart before you go.
Free parking in two lots at the park. Check current signage for construction notices or limits.
A quarter mile brick walkway runs through the park, and the lots are close to the lawn and sand. Restrooms and concessions operate seasonally.
Seasonal lifeguards work the swim area in summer. Harbor water is warmest in July and August.
