Humarock Beach
Scituate, MA
Humarock Beach is a long stretch of fine, hard packed sand on the barrier strip between the North and South Rivers, legally part of Scituate but reached only by road through Marshfield at Ferry Street. Gift shops, a general store, and restaurants are within walking distance of the sand.
Long, hard packed sand and a small village feel make it a local favorite, though sticker rules and a two town setup make it confusing for visitors.
How we score beachesYou must enter through Marshfield, off Route 3A at Ferry Street, and Scituate sells a limited number of non-resident Humarock stickers each year. Beach wheelchairs are kept at the fire station.
About 120 spaces, with a town beach sticker required in season. Scituate sells a limited number of non-resident stickers.
A beach wheelchair is available at the fire station, and porta potties are on site. The sand is fine and hard packed.
Summer is peak season, and the barrier beach gets breezy. Fall storms can move the sand around.
