Jensen Beach
Jensen Beach, FL

Jensen Beach Park, also known as Jensen Sea Turtle Beach, is one of Martin County's four main guarded public beaches, with free parking that still manages to fill up during busy times despite more than 200 spaces. Sea turtles nest along this stretch in real numbers, part of why the beach carries the name.
Free parking and sea turtle nesting give it real local appeal, though the no pets rule at this guarded beach sends dog owners further south.
How we score beachesDogs aren't allowed at this guarded beach, but Walton Rocks Beach a short drive south on Hutchinson Island is the area's real off-leash option. Arrive early in season, the lot's 200-plus spaces still aren't always enough on a nice weekend.
Parking is free, with over 200 spaces, though it can still fill during busy periods.
The park has a short, flat walk from the lot to the beach.
Dogs aren't permitted at Jensen Beach Park, a guarded Martin County beach.
Winter and spring bring South Florida's driest, mildest weather and the biggest snowbird crowds. Summer's heat and hurricane season, June through November, thin things out despite the warmest water of the year.
