Jetty Park Beach
Cape Canaveral, FL

Jetty Park sits right at the mouth of Port Canaveral, where the beach runs up against the jetty rocks that cruise ships pass on their way out to sea. A fishing pier extends along the jetty itself, and the park's angle makes it one of the closer public spots to watch both cruise ship departures and rocket launches from Kennedy Space Center.
The jetty view of cruise ships and rockets is a genuinely unique vantage point most beaches can't offer, though the steep parking fee and small beach itself make it more a novelty stop than an all day destination.
How we score beachesTime a visit around a cruise ship departure if you've never seen one up close, the ships pass close enough to the jetty to feel genuinely large. The day use parking fee runs steep compared to nearby beaches, so factor that in if you're just stopping briefly.
Day use parking runs around 15 dollars, higher than most nearby beach parking given the park's proximity to the port. The lot can fill on weekends and during popular launch or cruise departure windows.
Paved paths lead from the lot to the beach and along much of the jetty and pier, flat and easy going. The fishing pier itself is a level walk with good views back toward the port.
Pets aren't allowed in the day park or on the beach, service animals excepted, though dogs are welcome at the campground for campers.
Winter brings cooler, more comfortable conditions for watching ship traffic from the jetty, while summer's warmer water and hurricane season, June through November, suit swimming better. Cruise and rocket schedules matter more here than the season does for planning a visit.
