Joemma Beach State Park
Home, WA
Joemma Beach State Park is a 122-acre marine camping park on the Key Peninsula with 3,000 feet of South Puget Sound shoreline, formerly known as the Robert F. Kennedy Recreation Area before being renamed in 1995 for prior homesteaders Joe and Emma Smith. It leans more toward fishing, crabbing, and boating than swimming, with a boat ramp and dock plus reservable primitive campsites.
Real and pleasant, genuinely more boat-oriented than swim-oriented, a quieter stop than the bigger Key Peninsula parks.
How we score beachesTwo of the campsites are Cascadia Marine Trail sites reserved for human and wind powered craft only, a detail worth knowing if arriving by kayak.
