Juno Beach Park centers on a 990-foot fishing pier reaching out over the Atlantic, with a large free lot right across US-1 that's rare for a beach this close to Palm Beach's denser towns. A section north of the pier is designated off-leash for dogs, a real point of difference from most of the county's beaches.
Free parking and a genuine off-leash section make it stand out from pricier, more restrictive beaches nearby, though the pier draws a steady crowd of anglers and sightseers most days.
How we score beachesWalking underneath the pier costs nothing, it's only fishing or standing out on the pier deck itself that runs 2 dollars, waived for veterans. Bring your dog's rabies tag if you're headed to the off-leash section, rangers do check.
A large lot directly across US-1 from the pier is free, one of the few free options this far south on the coast.
The park is a short, flat walk from the free lot, and the pier itself is wheelchair accessible.
Dogs are allowed off-leash on a designated stretch north of the pier; elsewhere on the beach they should stay leashed.
Winter and spring bring South Florida's driest, mildest weather and the biggest snowbird crowds. Summer's heat and hurricane season, June through November, thin things out despite the warmest water of the year.
