Kamaole Beach Park II

Kihei, HI

Family-friendlySnorkeling

Kamaole Beach Park II sits between its two siblings, a wide, well groomed beach with lifeguards on duty and a shallow, protected swimming area that keeps it a steady favorite for families. Rocky points at both ends of the sand hold some decent snorkeling on a calm day, without the crowds that build up at the more famous spots further south.

Solid, lifeguarded, and easy for families, but it's essentially interchangeable with its neighboring Kamaoles and doesn't offer much locals can't get at I or III.

How we score beaches
Local Tip

Snorkel the rocky points at either end of the beach rather than the open sand in the middle, where the reef life actually concentrates.

Parking

A free county lot runs along South Kihei Road, typically easier to find space in on weekdays than weekends.

Accessibility

A grassy park with pavilions and restrooms leads onto flat, wide sand, an easy walk with a gentle slope into the water.

Weather & the best time to visit

Calm nearly year round given the sheltered south shore location, with summer bringing the clearest water for the rocky point snorkeling.
