Kaupō Beach Park
Waimanalo, HI
Across the highway from Sea Life Park, Kaupō Beach Park is a rocky little stretch where the real draw is the tide pools rather than the swimming. Families wade the shallow pockets between the lava shelves at low tide, and the view out toward Manana, the rabbit shaped island offshore, makes it worth the short stop even if nobody gets fully wet.
A nice, quick tide pool stop with a good view of Rabbit Island, but it's rocky underfoot and genuinely not a swimming beach.
How we score beachesTime your visit to low tide if tide pooling is the goal. The pools disappear entirely once the water comes up.
A small lot sits right off Kalanianaole Highway across from Sea Life Park.
Flat but uneven lava rock and small tide pools lead to the water, not ideal for strollers or bare feet.
Best visited in summer when swells are smaller and the tide pools stay calmer and safer to explore.
