Keaʻau Beach Park
Waianae, HI
Keaʻau Beach Park stretches along a long, mostly rocky shoreline north of Mākaha, popular with local fishermen and campers more than swimmers, since the shallow reef and rocky bottom make it a tricky place to get in the water. The Waiʻanae Range rises steeply right behind the park, dry and rugged most of the year.
A legitimate local fishing and camping spot with real mountain views, but the rocky shoreline isn't built for casual swimming.

A free lot sits off Farrington Highway at the park.
Flat but rocky ground leads from the lot to the shoreline, uneven underfoot.
Calmer in summer, winter brings rougher water that makes the rocky shoreline even less swimmer friendly.
