King's Beach
Swampscott, MA
King's Beach runs along Humphrey Street from the Lynn line toward the restaurants in Swampscott, and it continues into Lynn as part of the Lynn Shore Reservation. It is a public swimming beach with no lifeguard. Free parking is right on the street.
Easy, free access on the street is a plus, but no lifeguard and a narrow shore hold it back.
How we score beachesFree Humphrey Street parking makes this an easy stop without a sticker. There is no lifeguard, so swim carefully.
Free parking is available on Humphrey Street.
The beach runs right along the street, so the walk from the curb is short.
Dogs are allowed on Swampscott beaches October 1 to May 20 and must be leashed to the high water mark.
Summer evenings are lively on the strip. Winter walks along the wall are quiet and bracing.
