Kopachuck State Park
Gig Harbor, WA
Kopachuck State Park is a 109-acre day-use park on Henderson Bay with over a mile of shoreline, a steep rocky beach that turns into a level sandbar once the tide drops. A major accessibility renovation finished in August 2025, genuinely improving the path from parking to sand.
A solid family sandbar beach with a real recent accessibility upgrade, though it's day-use only and rocky at higher tides.
How we score beachesWait for a lower tide if a sandbar swim is the goal; at higher tide the beach is rockier and less inviting.
A Discover Pass is required; open 8am to dusk year round.
