Kuliʻouʻou Beach Park

Kuliʻouʻou Beach Park sits at the mouth of Hawaii Kai's Kuliʻouʻou Valley, a modest park with a canoe hālau and a narrow, reef fringed shoreline that locals treat more as a launch point than a swimming beach. The adjoining Paikō Lagoon wildlife sanctuary stretches west along the shallow flats, home to herons and other shorebirds most tourists never notice.
A quiet, practical little park and a genuine gateway to the Paikō bird sanctuary next door, but there's not much beach to speak of and swimming isn't really the draw.

A small free lot sits off Kalanianaole Highway right at the park.
Flat paths lead from the lot to the shoreline, though the water entry is over exposed reef rather than open sand.
Calm and shallow most of the year, since the reef flat blocks most swell from reaching shore at all.
