Laudholm Beach
Wells, ME
Laudholm Beach is part of the Wells National Estuarine Research Reserve, reached on foot by trail from Laudholm Farm. The walk through fields and marsh is half the pleasure, and the beach at the end feels far from the summer crowds. Some areas close seasonally to protect nesting piping plovers.
A quiet, protected beach reached through farm and marsh, but it takes a walk and seasonal closures apply.
How we score beachesRespect the plover closures and stay on marked routes. Walk the trails through the farm fields on the way back.
