LeCount Hollow Beach
Wellfleet, MA
LeCount Hollow Beach is a Wellfleet ocean beach reached by a road that drops between steep cliffs to the sand. The walk out from the lot is short, and the beach is wide and open. Lifeguards are on duty in season, and a large lot serves the beach.
Cliffs, open sand and a big lot make it a local favorite, though summer parking rules are a hurdle for visitors.
How we score beachesThe town has restricted this lot to resident stickers in summer in recent years, so confirm the current rules before you go. Neighboring Maguire Landing is next door.
Parking here has been restricted to Wellfleet resident stickers in peak summer, so check current rules. The lot is large, at over a hundred spaces.
A paved road leads to the lot and a short path to the sand. The final approach is over soft sand.
Summer water is cool, and the beach is at its best from July to early September. Fall brings stronger surf and quiet sand.
