Limantour Beach

Limantour Beach sits beside the Estero de Limantour, a wide sandy beach with dune trails overlooking the estuary on one side. It's one of the more popular named beaches in Point Reyes National Seashore, developed enough to have a real parking lot without losing the park's wild character.
The combination of a real sandy beach and the adjacent estuary trails makes it one of the more well rounded stops in the park, popular enough that it does draw a real crowd on nice days.

Free parking is available at the lot.
A path leads from parking through dune habitat to the beach.
Dogs are welcome; check posted signage for specific leash rules.
Summer mornings run foggy before clearing, typical of the Point Reyes coast, with water staying cold year round.
