Lobsterville Beach
Aquinnah, MA
Lobsterville Beach runs along the north side of Aquinnah between Vineyard Sound and Menemsha Pond, a long, gentle shore with views across to Cuttyhunk and the Elizabeth Islands. The water is calmer than the south shore, and the sand is broad. It has the easy feeling of a beach that few visitors find.
Calm water and views toward the Elizabeth Islands, though nonresident parking is limited.
How we score beachesPlan to bike or get dropped off, since designated parking is limited to residents. Sunset looks straight across the water toward Menemsha.
Designated parking at Lobsterville is by residential permit only, so visitors should plan to walk, bike, or take a shuttle.
The sand is close to the road and the approach is flat. Facilities are minimal.
Sound side water is gentler and warms by midsummer. Sunsets over the water are worth the trip.
