Loomis Lake State Park
Ocean Park, WA
Loomis Lake State Park's ocean unit is a small, lightly marked day-use area on the peninsula's quiet stretch near Ocean Park, separate from the inland lake the park is named for. A paved path gives way to a sandy trail out to a small viewing platform and open beach, with grassy picnic space and almost none of the crowd.
Quiet precisely because almost nobody knows it's there, though the bare-bones facilities and thin signage mean it rewards people who already know the peninsula more than first-time visitors.
How we score beachesThere's no sign announcing this as a major destination, and that's the point. Check current park status before you go, since the ocean unit is thin on signage and upkeep compared to the bigger peninsula parks.
Free, informal day-use parking, without the developed fee structure of the peninsula's bigger parks.
A paved path runs partway, ending at a small viewing platform, with a sandy trail continuing to the beach itself.
Like the rest of the peninsula, summer is the calmest window. Wind and fog are routine the rest of the year.
