Madaket Beach
Nantucket, MA
Madaket Beach sits at the far west end of Nantucket, at the end of the Madaket Road bike path. It is the island's sunset beach, with lifeguards in summer and a laid back village feel nearby. Millie's restaurant and market sit down the street.
A real sunset destination with a village feel, though it is a long trip from town.
How we score beachesPlan to arrive an hour before sunset and bike out from town if you can. It is a long ride, so allow the time.
There is parking near the beach that fills on summer evenings.
A short walk leads from the parking area to the sand. Facilities are limited.
Sunsets are the draw, and the water is cool and lively with west and south swells.
