Marlyn Nelson County Park
Sequim, WA
Marlyn Nelson County Park is a one acre pocket beach at Port Williams, gravel and cobble tucked into a bay sheltered enough that it stays calm even when the wind picks up elsewhere. It's named for a local sailor lost at Pearl Harbor aboard the USS California, a quiet piece of history most visitors never notice.
Small and quiet with a genuine piece of local history behind the name, more a neighborhood beach than a destination.
How we score beachesThe boat launch is sized for vessels 18 feet and under, so it's a good put-in for a kayak or small skiff rather than anything bigger.
Free parking at the small county lot.
An accessible vault toilet and one ADA picnic table are on site. The walk to the water is short and flat.
